About Mullvad VPN
Mullvad VPN is the Android client for Mullvad, a Swedish VPN service built around the idea that you should not have to hand over personal details to stay private online. Sign-up creates a random account number instead of asking for an email address, and the company states that it keeps no logs of what you do while connected.
Once connected, your traffic goes through an encrypted WireGuard tunnel to a Mullvad server of your choice, so websites and your internet provider see the server's address rather than yours. The app itself is free and open source; using it requires paid time on a Mullvad account, which can be topped up on the website, with vouchers, or anonymously with cash or cryptocurrency.
